Welcome to Harmony in Worship Contemporary Choir

Join us in fun and song with our conductor & director, Colleen Bleazard. Five workshops will be used to work toward a performance which includes various styles of music.

Everyone is welcome, but children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. We recommend that young children do not attend if they are unable to conform to the structure of the sessions.
 

Upcoming Vocal Group Performance

Harmony in Worship is giving a Vocal Group Performance featuring the St. Ambrose Youth Choir. Admission is free, but the concert starts promptly after Youth Mass. Pizza and light refreshment to follow the concert.

Current Workshop Package Details

Next Choir Workshops and full live concert performance are scheduled for Spring 2013. This will be geared toward learning how to perform in a “studio” setting. It will be a short list of songs, which will give opportunity to learn them well. The performance will be recorded with the idea of posting to our YouTube account. More details to come as we get nearer to the date.

What to Expect...

After registration, the sessions will start with vocal exercises to warm up and strengthen the voice. This is a good way to get to know your voice and to relax anyone feeling a bit nervous. After this, you will separate into your one-of-three allocated vocal parts; then the fun will begin with learning our new repertoire. There will be a 15 minute break in the middle and you will be given lyrics and a rehearsal CD to take home. Those of you who can wish to have score will be given one on request.
 

The Performance

This is a fun, light entertainment event for our family and friends to come and watch what we've been working hard on. There will be a variety of songs from the choir with a few solo items. Details of the performance can be discussed in the workshops.
 

Solos

From time to time, we perform pieces which require soloists in the program. For the upcoming video workshops, we will be having closed auditions.

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

*If a student wishes to cancel, notice must be given via phone, followed by an e-mail, by 5pm, three days prior to the first Monday rehearsal. Refunds may not be given if reception of cancellation has not been confirmed by the student before that weekend.
